What is Holiday Lights Festival?

Our Holiday Lights Festival at Maryland’s Montgomery County Fairgrounds is our signature event, combining the heartwarming spirit of the holidays with the unique vision and creativity that has made it a holiday tradition for communities across Montgomery County. Holiday Lights is a journey through acres of winter wonderland, one of the largest immersive walk-through light festivals of its kind in the United States.

What To Expect

What can I expect from Holiday Lights Festival?

Expect to be dazzled! Stroll through themed set pieces rich in imagination and grand in scale. Sip hot chocolate and nosh on food truck delights, taking in the sights and holiday music sounds as you go. Stop along the way for the many photo-friendly opportunities built into our displays. Or take a break while the little ones enjoy our play area. It’s all here!

How long does the experience last?

The duration of the experience varies depending on your pace of exploration; however, most visitors spend approximately 1 to 2 hours enjoying the exhibits and activities.

Will food and beverages be available on-site for purchase?

We have a food/beverage vendor onsite and allow guests to bring snacks and beverages; however, food and drinks are not allowed to be brought into the amusement activities.

Will there be merchandise for sale?

Yes, there will be merchandise available for purchase, including souvenirs, themed items.

Will restrooms be available on-site?

Yes, porta-potties are available on-site.

Is the venue ADA-compliant, Stroller-Friendly or Kid Wagon-Friendly?

Yes, our festival is ADA-compliant, stroller-friendly, and kid wagon-friendly; however, we do not offer check-in services or wheelchair, stroller, and kid wagon rentals.

Is Parking Free?

Yes. The Perry Parkway Entrance is the Main Entrance to the Festival & Festival Parking. You can access the free onsite parking via our gate on Perry Parkway, across from the DoubleTree by Hilton. (add map)

Is re-entry allowed?

Once you enter, you are welcome to stay as long as you wish; however, re-entry is not permitted.

Can I purchase tickets at the door?

We do not sell physical tickets at the door. If you arrive without a ticket, you will need to purchase it online on your phone before entering (subject to availability). We strongly recommend buying in advance to secure your spot and avoid delays at the entrance.

Where can I get tickets?

Tickets are available online. Even if you are already onsite, you will need to purchase your ticket online before entering. To guarantee entry and the best price, please buy your tickets in advance.

Can discount codes be used on-site or provided after ticket purchase?

Discount codes are only valid for online pre-purchases.

Do children need to pay for a ticket?
  • Admission: Children three and under do not require an admission ticket.
  • Train Ride: Children three and under ride free, but must be accompanied by a paying adult.
  • Bounce Zone: All kids need a ticket to enter the Bounce Zone and must be accompanied by an adult (adults enter free). Children 3 & under must have an adult with them inside the inflatables. One-time entry only
I can't find my ticket. What can I do?

If you’re unable to locate your confirmation email, please first check your inbox, spam and junk folder and look for an email from assistance@peek.com.

Still no luck? Here's what to do next:

  • Online: You can contact our customer service team and provide the name, phone number, and email used at checkout. We’ll be happy to resend your confirmation.
  • Onsite: If you're attending the event and still haven’t received your confirmation, our admission staff can assist by looking up your booking using your name, phone number, or email. Simply speak with an admission staff member upon arrival.

I forgot to purchase add-on activities with my ticket. Can I still buy them afterward?

Yes, you can! We recommend purchasing add-ons online in advance since on-site availability is limited and may involve wait times.

Here’s how to add them after your ticket purchase:

  1. Open your booking confirmation email
  2. Tap “My Customer Portal” button
  3. Scroll down to view available add-on options
  4. Choose your add-ons, and click “Buy Now” to complete the order. A confirmation receipt will land in your inbox.
  5. Refresh the Customer Portal to view updated add-ons below or beside your QR code—automatically linked to your booking.

Please present your booking QR code to the Admission Staff at check-in. They will be able to access your booking details, and all purchased add-ons.

Do you offer group discounts?

Yes, we offer group discounts for larger parties. Please contact customer service at info@luminocityus.com for more information.

Can I transfer my tickets to another person?

Yes, tickets can often be transferred to another person. Please ensure that you send all booking confirmation emails to the individual/group to whom you’d like to transfer the tickets.

Who are the official sellers for this experience?

Our official website and authorized ticketing partners are the recommended sources for purchasing tickets to the LuminoCity Dino Safari Festivals and LuminoCity Holiday Lights Festivals.

Dos & Don’ts

Can I bring animals into the experience?

Only registered service animals serving those with disabilities in accordance with ADA requirements are allowed to enter the event. Emotional support animals will not be allowed entry. Most states have laws specifically banning the fraudulent misrepresentation of pets as service animals.

Can I fly a drone or unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) at the event?

For the safety and enjoyment of all attendees, drone flying is strictly prohibited at our event. This includes all types of drones and unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), regardless of size or purpose. Please note that any violation of this policy will result in removal from the event and/or further action as deemed necessary by event security.

Can I take photos or record the experience?

Yes, photography and recording for personal use are generally permitted. However, please respect any posted signage or guidelines regarding photography.

Can I bring food and/or beverages?

Outside food and/or beverages are allowed on the onsite. However, food and/or beverages are not allowed to be brought into the amusement activities.

Can I bring alcohol?

Alcohol is prohibited onsite.

What are the prohibited items/behaviors at the experience?
  • Smoking and alcoholic beverages of any kind.
  • Firearms, ammunition, knives, and weapons of any kind.
  • Marijuana (including marijuana-enriched products) or any illegal substance.
  • Intrusive equipment such as camera setups, tripods, audio gear, selfie sticks, drones, etc.
  • Large bags/backpacks, sports equipment (bats, balls, etc.), and glass containers.
  • Hoverboards, bikes, and scooters (other than scooters used as a mobility scooter under the ADA) are prohibited.
  • Using benches and other LuminoCity properties as storage.
  • Illegal vending or unauthorized/unlicensed vendors

Reschedule & Refunds

What options do I have if I need to reschedule my visit to the LuminoCity festival?

✨ Self-Service Rescheduling: Gain control over your visit with the convenient Peek system, accessible through the customer portal. This feature enables you to effortlessly choose a new date and time that aligns better with your schedule.

Tickets can be rescheduled via the self-rescheduling portal. Kindly be advised that admission ticket prices vary based on the selected day and time slot. If you choose to reschedule your tickets to a higher-priced time slot or day, you'll need to cover the price difference.

Kindly refer to your Booking Confirmation Email to reschedule, follow the prompts during the rescheduling process, and complete the payment at the checkout page. If payment is not finalized at checkout, our team will automatically charge the outstanding price difference to the credit/debit card on file.

Can I get a refund for my unused tickets?

Any unused tickets are eligible for a refund before the Dino Safari ends. Refund requests must be submitted at least 24 hours before the event's final day.

Can I get a refund for my tickets if the LuminoCity festival is canceled?

Refunds for canceled event tickets are only granted under special circumstances. However, please note that once a ticket has been redeemed for admission, it is considered utilized and is non-refundable. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.

Can I get a refund for the checked-in booking?

Checked-in bookings are non-refundable.

What is a Force Majeure event, and how does it affect ticket refunds and rescheduling?

A Force Majeure event refers to unforeseeable circumstances beyond our control, such as weather or natural disasters, which prevent the festival from taking place as scheduled. In such cases, tickets for the affected day/time slot(s) will be honored for admission on any operational day without the need for rescheduling.

Can I get a refund for tickets purchased on-site, including General Admission and other activities?

Tickets purchased on-site, including General Admission, Children Admission, VIP tickets, and Add-on activities (Bounce Zone, Train Ride, and Safari Dig), are non-refundable.

Why are emails left unanswered for days and refunds take time to process?
